Coming from 300h in Tarkov I expected a similar experience, but was met with a very different kind of game. Don't get me wrong, the quests, the looting and the PvP are there, but there are some major differences in how a raid plays. First of all the AI is brainded, which is not a net negative, where scavs in Tarkov pose an actual threat, AI in ABI functions more as an alarm system, where you have to try to get them to not make noise to not get spotted. The game is much more PvP focused than others, look at it like a big arena where you have to try and eliminate the competition, not like a living and breathing world you actually live in and try and survive in like Tarkov. The maps are a painful point for me, I just don't like them; they work perfectly for gameplay, but I personally prefer maps that feel real, that aren't made for gameplay, but to feel like a random location you find yourself in and need to try and survive; ABI's maps are not that. The three modes: normal, lockdown and forbidden give each a very different difficulty to one another, forbidden being the sweatiest, and the only one where players actually play with headphones. The game also looks faboulus, great models and graphics. Expect predatory monetization for cosmetics, it being a F2P title, but it doesn't bother me personally that much. The game has it's issues with balancing and such, but for being F2P it distinguishes itself enough from the extraction shooter craze happening recently. Don't expect it to substitute your main title, it's not Tarkov or Arc Raiders, but I like to take it out for a spin here and there, to mix up the formula.
