About
Archon Soul is a 2D roguelike dice-builder where you create powerful dice using swappable faces, runes, and bodies with unique effects. Draft spells, craft powerful synergies, defeat challenging enemies, and conquer the Archon's palace.

In the Prologue: 15 dice bodies (plus event only dice bodies) and 25 runes available.
In the full game: In addition to changing the face values of your dice, you can also modify them with Dice Bodies and Runes. With 40 runes and over 30 dice bodies, each dice has more than 65,000 combinations to master.

In the Prologue: Play as the Gaiamancer, with over 50 spells available.
In the full game: Play as the Gaiamancer, the Pyromancer, or the Thaumancer (or even a secret fourth character). Each mage has their own unique spells to choose from, over 200 spells in total! But spells alone won't be enough to get you through the palace to find the Archon Soul.

Craft powerful combos between your spells, runes, and bodies to survive and thrive through brutal combats.

Explore the Archon's palace, choose your path, engage in combat, encounter events, defeat powerful bosses, and fight your way through 4 acts to make your way to the Archon Soul. Can you prove your worth to the Soul, and become one with its power?

Solid stuff. Reminds me a bit of Dice Legends. Pros: -art is terrific -gameplay is quite crunchy (seriously there is a LOT of systems/customizations you can make to your dice) -meta for the character I'm playing seems well designed (running and AOE sandstorm build that's great for big crowds of enemies, struggles on single target) -solid difficulty Cons: -took a few turns through to get all the mechanics (changing dice face, background etc) -dice abilities feel VERY finnicky (lots of options here, feels like few that matter) If you dig Dice Legends or Deck Builders like Slay the Spire, check this one out. Recommended and jumping on my wishlist. Took 3-4 plays for the hook to set but now I "get it" and I'm looking forward to playing

So far so good! Will most probably get the game on release, but I'm hoping for a switch port before that!
Sympas, mais bien trop difficile à mon goût.
EDIT: I truly feel bad for the DEV, because it appears that these DEVS are not malicious perpetrators, but VICTIMS of this propagated practice. Even so, I cannot condone this practice - and will have to downvote. I hope things get better soon for passionate developers like you!
Their product seems to be pretty solid, and it looks like they actually CARE about what they're doing. Wish them all the best! - Good Luck!

"Prologue", "Episode 0/1", "DEMO"....
All descriptions for the same thing: an incomplete game, released with it's own Store-Page Instead of releasing these ''demos'' on the same Store-page as their future title, they choose to have 2 store-pages instead of 1, hoping that this will ''increase their reach to a bigger audience'' - even if that goes at the cost of cluttering up the ''free to play'' tabs, making it harder to find actual GOOD F2P games. Worst part? Crypto-shell companies, Ai-slop farmers, triple-A studios and even good, honest - small indie devs are doing this. There are actual HARDWORKING DEVS out there who see this kind of sh!t, and come to the conclusion that the only way to compete, is to do the same scummy practice as the bigger, more popular fish out there! Archon Soul: Prologue is one of those strategy games that made me want to keep experimenting because the deckbuilding idea is tied directly into the dice system. I play as a mage fighting through a dark fantasy palace, but instead of simply collecting cards, I am building powerful dice by changing their faces and combining them with different modifiers. I liked how much room this gives me to shape my own play style. The combat is turn based, with my spells and dice working together to create different effects. The interesting part is that I am not just choosing which abilities to use. I am also deciding how my dice should be constructed so that the results support the rest of my build. I enjoyed the feeling of finding a useful combination and then trying to make it even stronger through the next encounters. The run structure also works well. I choose my path through the palace, deal with enemies and events, then improve my build as I go. Some decisions are safer than others, so I found myself constantly weighing whether a risky route was worth the potential reward. Boss encounters also provide a useful test of whether my build actually works. The spell selection gives the prologue plenty of variety. I liked having many different options available to the Gaiamancer, because it encourages me to build around the dice rather than simply chasing the same powerful abilities every time. The illustrated art style also works nicely with the darker fantasy setting, giving the game a polished storybook quality. My biggest issue is that I am obviously playing a prologue, so the experience feels limited compared with what the full concept promises. I wanted more characters, more dice possibilities and more opportunities to explore the deeper build crafting ideas. Some runs also feel more dependent on the choices I am offered than on my own planning, which can make certain attempts feel less satisfying. Still, the core dice building system is clever enough to carry the experience. I enjoyed thinking about how the different parts of my build could interact and trying to create stronger combinations. It has that satisfying feeling of starting with a weak setup and gradually turning it into something much more effective. Overall, Archon Soul: Prologue is a very promising roguelike strategy game with a genuinely interesting dice building system. I liked the combination of spells, customizable dice and branching runs, and the dark fantasy presentation gives the adventure plenty of atmosphere. It is limited by being a prologue, but the central idea is strong enough to make me interested in the full game. Rating: 6.8/10
The gameplay feels balanced and well thought at the moment. Can't wait to see what the full release feels like.
Addicting, Fun, &Challenging! Unique twist on the, "Slay the Spire" \ Deck-building (Dice-building genre!
Neat like spell rogue, But this just simply has more juice. You weight your dice depending on your deck, and its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. I need it in my veins. Gib me now.
