Fantastic game, terrible matchmaking
Before I get attacked by fanboys, I'll admit that part of my opinion of this game is down to a skill issue. But there is such a steep learning curve for this game. I started in lobbies that were reasonable, but a dozen or so matches later, I'm being stomped on by people living on unemployment benefits, playing 12+ hours a day. The matchmaking needs improvement. New and returning players need an opportunity to improve. When I'm placed in lobbies of my own skill level, I have a great time, even though I still lose a lot. But after an hour or two and maybe a win here and there, I'm then moved into demon lobbies and teamed up with room-temperature-IQ players with attention disorders. And despite being humiliated by players clearly on a whole other skill level (or cheating) and being unable to secure even a single kill for several matches, I'm still placed in more demon lobbies. I have to either log out for a few days or continue to endure it for several hours, stripping away any enjoyment I was earlier having, before I'm placed back in reasonable lobbies. And then the cycle repeats. This is my third time returning to Apex over the last few years, and each time, I read dev posts about how matchmaking is being improved and lots of buzzwords are being thrown around, but it's just as bad now as I remember it from before and the time before that. The developers are either incompetent or they are using average-skilled players as fodder for the higher-tier lobbies so their games are not as sweaty. When I realised this, things made more sense, and I closed the game. Great movement and satisfying gunplay, but I'm done. If you're a solo player or casual by nature and value your sanity, stay far away from this game. ⠀

this game ruined my life i was called the n word multiple times and got told i should end it by a 5 year old overall would recommend
THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT RECON CHARACTERS! Look at the skyboxes in Storm Point, the geometry doesn't lie, it’s a grid system designed by the underground reptilian elite to harvest our cognitive despair! I have 4,000 hours in this digital panopticon and I see the code now. They ruined the game when they sunsetted Arenas. Why did they remove Arenas? Ask yourself! It wasn't because of "low player counts." That is a completely fabricated narrative fed to you by the mainstream gaming media and Respawn’s shape-shifting board of directors. Arenas was pure. 3v3. No third parties. It was a controlled environment where their algorithmic engagement-optimized matchmaking (EOMM) couldn't properly manipulate your brainwaves! The lizard people realized we were achieving true consciousness in the Phase Runner map, so they deleted it to force us back into the Battle Royale meat grinder to suffer forever. The matchmaking isn't broken, it is a targeted psychological weapon deployed by the globalist regime to break the human spirit. I am a hardstuck Gold IV player. Why am I fighting three-stack Apex Predators with 100,000 kills every single drop? Because the matchmaking algorithm tracks my micro-eye movements through my monitor and scales the difficulty to maximize my cortisol production. They literally feed on our frustration! The sweatier the lobby, the more negative energy we emit, which powers the cloaking devices of the hollow-earth craft hovering directly over the EA data centers. That’s why the audio is always broken! The footsteps aren't missing; they are being broadcasted on a secret frequency only accessible to the reptilian overseers.Every time you buy a collection event pack or an heirloom, you are directly financing the construction of their deep underground military bunkers. Horizon’s gravity lift? A literal physical metaphor for the extraction of human souls into the upper atmosphere. They want us trapped in a perpetual, agonizing cycle of drop, die, queue, drop, die, queue, until our minds are completely hollowed out and ready for compliance. Do not trust the patch notes. The "weapon balancing" is just a cover to alter the magnetic resonance of the digital bullets, slowly calibrating our brains to accept the New World Order. Wake up, legends! Stop looking for the Kraber and start looking for the truth! They can nerf the R-301 but they cannot nerf my third eye! The truth is out there in the Outlands!Show Code
The game does not have the basics right even after 7 years. Audio is still unreliable after 7 years, servers are terrible, game disconnects mid match and the best part? It then gives you an abandonment penalty and takes away RP as if it was your fault. Fix the basics before adding more cosmetics.
This game is ass, and I'm glad I finally uninstalled it. The matchmaking system is awful, Hidden MMR clearly isn't doing its job because I'm a decent player, yet I constantly get matched against Apex Predators while my teammates either just installed the game or have the game sense of a brick. This game was doomed the moment the developers started taking advice only from people who play this game 24/7 and barely touch any other games. Instead of fixing the core issues, they keep adding mechanics and features the game doesn't need. Every time I see a promising update, I convince myself to give it another shot. Then, after two games—just trying to finish my daily challenges—I'm either bored because every match feels exactly the same or frustrated because I get teammates with bricks for brains. Then they release a new Legend, only to nerf them into the ground because too many people were actually playing them. Meanwhile, Crypto never gets a proper rework or meaningful buffs. He's simply not built for the current fast-paced meta. I still manage to make him work, but when he's sitting at around a 7% pick rate, that's a pretty good sign something is wrong. It honestly feels like the developers don't care anymore. Only around 80,000 people consistently play this game, and it feels like it's mostly the same players who don't really know what makes a competitive game fun. Even Fortnite has more players in just two of its many game modes, and people have been calling that game "dead" for years. It's honestly sad that I spent money on this game. The only reason I enjoyed it was because playing with friends was fun. Outside of that, it's been a frustrating experience. I've wasted far too much time on this piece of trash, and I regret it—except for Seasons 0 through 8, when the game was actually good. To make things worse, I somehow ended up with the Battle Pass without intentionally buying it, and my Apex Coins disappeared. The only reason I even finished it was because my man Crypto finally got a skin. And don't even get me started on ranked. The ranked system is somehow even worse than Rainbow Six's. Ranked in Apex doesn't feel like a ranked mode for a battle royale at all. You barely get rewarded for getting kills because, apparently, surviving is all that matters. Am I playing a survival game? No. If I wanted that, I'd rather play Dead by Daylight, Ark, or Rust. A battle royale should reward you for fighting other squads, getting kills, and being the last team standing. Instead, Apex mostly rewards placement. You can finish 13th out of 20 squads with 4 kills and 2 assists and still lose RP. Instead of losing 50 RP, maybe you only lose 30—but you're still losing despite outperforming most players in combat. The game encourages hiding for placement instead of taking fights, which is the complete opposite of what a battle royale should reward. P.S. This review was polished with AI using my original rant because I couldn't be bothered to waste any more time writing about this game. I've already given it enough hours of my life.
This game is almost the only tolerable battle royale cause the moving and shooting at a baseline is pretty fun but never have I seen a more annoying player base everyone thinks they’re gods gift to the game as they flick their jumping bean for in your face for 10 minutes before finally whiffing a full clip at you it fills me with shame to be part of the whole ritual

It's fun, but the characters look really strange! とても面白かったけど、キャラはおかしい 재미있어요! 하지만 캐릭터는 너무 못생겼어요!
it takes to long to get anything good and its sweaty but great game 10/10 would recomend if you hate yourself
