AN IOU is the debut visual novel by Davey Cadaver. The music, backgrounds, & characters work together to create a world that is the stage of a novel for the user to read. The user takes the POV of the protagonist to experience a memorable story with an incredible soundtrack and multiple endings.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 6 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is a great game, it is relaxing and has a good story. Well worth the price of admission. Listen to Mr. Cadaver's audio book of Welcome to the N.H.K. after playing this game! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMkqCpeJ0uM&list=PLLhxxy2HXB3AHEa3w-0Ltupc9YVBYFPWk&pp=iAQB
A game that hit close to home. With dialogue well designed to be fluid and followed nicely. The main characters (especially Trevor) I found highly relatable from their points of view in relation to my own life and certain points I found myself stopping for a moment to recall a memory or rather being reminded of things in the past While some might not see this as horror. For me it seems that the games I find the most special have absolutely been in this dark and honest style. The kind that makes you think about or feel misery or fear from things that can and do happen in real life. Most people do not think about things this way. The true horror I would call it. Davey must be hell of a chad to hit that mark. The art as well is quite lovely and I feel certainly cooperated well with the writing. I normally do not play visual novels myself. I am an avid reader of book books however. The ones with that amazing bookish scent. And well. as a reader normally your own brain determines the setting and how the characters all look. In this case it was done for me and it could not have been more perfect. Especially with the little cinematic scenes and transitions. The music! Also perfect. Done by Micamic! I am a huge fan of his work in the games made my Rem so of course to hear his stuff here It definitely brought me a smile. As always it helps the mood be well set. The other guest artists as well were perfect. The song at the credits also so good. Good taste! As I am writing this I have only had a chance to get one of the endings. But only 5 more achievements left! So I will be finishing the other playthroughs as I can. Seeing as how I am addicted to being sad and crying you see. Looking forward to see more games or work like this! Including other collabs as well. Will be waiting! 10/10

I absolutely enjoyed playing this game. The story telling, the soundtrack, the artwork and the atmosphere it´s truly amazing and so close to reality. I think adding the unlockables and especially the fourth wall break into this game was also a very interesting and creative thing to do. Short and sweet that´s for sure. I come back once in a while to appreciate the artwork and to get inspired. I don´t usually play visual novels that often but this one was amazing I can definitely recommend.
A beautiful gloomy love story between two interesting characters. This visual novel has a gorgeous soundtrack and amazing artwork to accompany it! Recommended for artists alike. Unique interactive features. If you enjoy the Twin Peaks series or anything David Lynch, you'll find this one worth playing!
Lovely story (even if I did get the bad ending haha) and the art style is just *chef's kiss*. Can't recommend enough if you fancy a short narrative experience.
The atmosphere, art style and story have a beautiful and sad quality to them. The music fits so much! I'd love more like this!
Games like this are the heart of indie -- bold, creative, and eccentric with a soul that a triple-A game would never have, in its art, story, and overall presentation alike. Aside from an aversion to commas in the writing, it all feels smooth and professional. The art style is absolutely perfect for the game, and all sorts of visual effects add significantly to the overall feel and immersion of the story. The characters' awkwardness is well written, too. Overall, an underrated indie masterpiece. Love it. Just one problem: I absolutely cannot, for the life of me, get anything but Ending #2. I've played the game so many times at this point, making every possible choice, and it's always the exact same. Achievement percentages indicate that 30%+ other people can get the other endings, so I have no idea what's wrong with me (I am very sleep-deprived at the moment, but still, wtf). That's really disappointing because I really wanted to see the other endings, too.
Davey was kind enough to gift a promotional key to me, but please know that this review is unbiased. AN IOU is a great visual novel. The art direction stands out as it gives the game an uneasy feeling--perfect for its narrative conceit. The visuals are mainly in black and white, but colour is reserved for specific moments to give more emotional weight. What really engaged me was its story and characters. I found the protagonist's motivations to be very believable and the game's dramatic question kept me playing to unlock all three endings. A fantastic experience for an evening read!
I'ts quite an enjoable visual novel with unique and obscure art. The script is well written specially for characters of this age (which makes them more "human" and believable). I'm yet to find more endings and eager to do so. I can see that the author placed a lot of his heart on this work, which makes it feel more emotional and personal (something difficult to find nowadays). The music also fits the atmosphere and art. I completely recommend this game but you're going throught a heartbreak it might hit you a little bit more (trust me it happened to me)
A story that anyone who has ever fallen in love can relate to. Moved to tears. x
