Absolutely amazing game gets better the more you go
The visuals are awesome, the gameplay and level design not so much. Worth it if you really want to bunny hop through what looks like late 90s render graphics.
AMID EVIL This game reignited my love for boomer shooters! The visual style is stunning, and clearing out enemy-packed arenas feels incredibly satisfying. The weapons are creative and fun to use, and I really appreciate that the achievements are reasonable—not over-the-top like in some other games in the genre. What stood out most to me was how each chapter brings its own unique enemies, mechanics, traps, and visual style—it keeps things fresh from start to finish. Honestly, it’s a solid 9/10 for me, and I highly recommend it to any fan of retro-style shooters. Recommended: play the DLC The Black Labyrinth first—it’s a prequel and sets the stage perfectly!

A great game that deserves more credit. Weapons are awesome and all are useful. The maps are visually unique and beautiful, and of course a killer soundtrack.
Durchgerockt am : 02.08.2025 Die Umgebung sieht Fantastisch aus. Die Levels verändern sich Fantasievoll. Zum Beispiel muster auf dem Boden steigen in die Höhe und es entsteht plötzlich eine Treppe. Der Soundtrack ist sehr abwechslungsreich und stimmig. Bosse machen Spaß. Die Waffen sind abwechslungsreich aber es fehlt der Wumms dahinter. Die Gegner sind seltsam anders aber sagen mir nicht so zu. Alle sind wie aus Kristall bestehend. Das ist ein Punkt der mich mit der zeit gestört hat. Alles in allem aber gut und eine 7/10 von mir. Das Addon „The Black Labyrinth“ habe ich nicht gespielt.

Vaya, esperaba que el juego fuera bueno, viendo las críticas tan positivas que tiene, ya sea aquí como en foros y otras webs, pero no esperaba que fuera tan abrumador en el apartado artístico. Es simplemente espectacular.
Retro hratelnost ano, ale vůbec ne taková, jakou jsem očekával. Více než cokoliv jiného Amid Evil připomíná staré akční plošinovky - velmi jednoduchá hratelnost, různé power upy, spousta skákání po plošinkách a manévrování po úzkých římsách a nepřátelé, jejichž umělá inteligence funguje na principu "vidím hráče -> běžím zabít hráče". Levely jsou přímočaré, komplexní level design ustupuje rychlosti a plynulosti zážitku (pád z výšky nezraňuje, ve vodě se postava netopí). Spíše než na Heretic a Hexen jsem si při hraní vzpomněl na Hocus Pocus.
