Aloof is a puzzle-fighter like Puyo Puyo Tetris, but plays completely different. In the world of Aloof you summon and defend small islands all the while you build combos against your opponent.

Beautiful puzzle-fighter that is not only fun in single player but also multi-player. The graphics are fantastic and the music a lot of fun. Big thumbs up !
Follow co-op suckers for more co-op reviews! As the short resume said, the game feels similar to Puyo Puyo or Tetris but with an emphasis on the puzzles. Simply assembling colors will get you going for the first few levels but quickly, you'll have to complete specific shapes in order to defeat your enemy. As such, I guess you could say it's a Puyo Puyo RPG. Despite being quite easy and relaxed at first, the complexity of the fights and the speed at which you'll have to make them will get stronger and you'll need some quick reflexes and insight, lest you suffer a painful death. As you can tell from the screenshots, it has a charming look and the piano notes give it a certain eerie and melancholic feeling. Now, with that being said, one thing I should mention is that the formula didn't work with me. If I can objectively say that the music is way too repetitive to be any enjoyable, the rest is all a matter of taste. I'm almost certain one looking for a casual puzzler will find its money worth, unfortunately that wasn't my case. Playing this, I miss the franctic playstyle of Puyo Puyo and can't stop wondering, "when does this picks up?". So yeah, if you are into those kind of games, go for it, it's worth it. Oh and the most important point: the co-op is neatly implemented, whether you play locally, using Parsec or Steam Remote Play.

Great game! It's flow and build up in single player are well developed. It is simple enough to learn and has layers of game play that run deep. Fun to play with friends as well!
Great Puzzle Game good use of the swapping between boards mechanics and good teaching tools in the Story mode without walls of text. Also the first puzzle game to make a health bar that adds to the game greatly. 10/10 Would take it to locals Wish it had spectating for online tournaments tho
Uker.
Very fun little puzzle game that can post a surprising challenge in the later levels, depending on the difficulty you choose. I played the campaign with a friend and we had turned the difficulty up at first because we thought the game would be easy, but then had to turn it back down after getting humbled later on. At first glance I thought that the game was basically "Tetris where you can freely move falling pieces", which seemed like it would be way too simple to beat, but there's a surprising variety of win conditions. I especially loved the "puzzle" levels. Rather than giving you a tutorial pop-up to teach you about some advanced mechanic, the game would give you a puzzle where the only possible solution would be for you to figure the mechanic out on your own. We always felt like geniuses when we'd finally figure out what the game was trying to coax us into learning, which is how a good puzzle game should make you feel. The co-op is also well integrated into the gameplay--it's not like you're just quietly playing side-by-side for 2x the points. You want to talk to your partner so that you're building different shapes, or healing effectively, or sending combos at the same time, etc. It took us 5-6 hours to beat the main campaign (some of that time was in steam remote play, so it's not recorded on my playtime). That's worth the full price to me. The only snag we hit was that we couldn't join each other's lobbies the first time we played, which is why we had to remote play at first. We didn't have that issue again, though. I'm honestly surprised at how little exposure this game seems to have had, since it feels like it should have pretty mass appeal in the cozy puzzle genre (especially with co-op). It's definitely worth checking out.
