Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 8 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Alone in the Dark is a straight up classic, no arguing that. This is one of the games that basically built survival horror before it even had a name. But playing it now? yeah… it’s more of a f*cking historical artifact than an actual game you sit down to enjoy for hours. The atmosphere is still there, you can see the ideas, the tension, the whole blueprint for stuff like Resident Evil. But the controls? pain. The movement feels like you’re wrestling a tank in slow motion, and half the time you’re fighting the game more than the enemies. Camera angles, clunky combat, weird pacing… it’s all part of that old school charm, sure, but let’s not pretend it hasn’t aged well in some areas. Still, you’ve gotta respect it. Without this, a lot of your favorite horror games wouldn’t even exist. Just don’t go in expecting a smooth experience, because it absolutely isn’t. It’s a classic, yeah… but more of a “play it once and say you did” kind of deal than something you’ll keep coming back to. Final score: 7/10

It's cute. Genuinely full of a niche charm that might not appeal to everyone, but while it's janky and rough around the edges, getting a grip with the controls doesn't actually take that much and after that it's an OKAY time. I can't say it's doing anything that's necessarily worth your time, but I do think that when on sale it's worth the price and definitely worth giving a nice look into history. If you want something doing fixed camera horror, there are better options, more entertaining options, and it makes this game tough to recommend since I can't in good faith say that there's anything here that would be worth going back to unless you specifically need a game with this old charm to scratch your itch. I might give it a full playthrough one day, but there's definitely a lot of good reasons resident evil is what the general majority would recommend.
10/10 would alone in the dark again

2 часа фиксов, 2 часа ушло что бы зайти и начать нормально играть
I was very excited to finally play the grandfather of survival horror games only to find out it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kaizo game. The gameplay loop is to walk into a room, die randomly to something that gave you zero warning, reload, try again but avoid it this time because now you know it's there, rinse and repeat. You will die at least once in every single room, through no fault of your own. This game is just awful.
круто
Resident Evil was inspired by this. Need I say more?
