As someone who enjoyed the original webcomic and Netflix series, I appreciated how the game stays true to the source material while introducing new scenarios and alternate endings. However, I did find that if you’ve already seen the show, the game’s story might feel a bit less impactful. The choices you make throughout the game don't significantly change the story until the end, which can be a bit disappointing if you’re expecting more branching paths. That said, the game excels in creating a tense, atmospheric experience where even small decisions feel weighty. The high-quality artwork adds emotional depth, making the narrative engaging despite its limitations. I really enjoyed playing this visual novel. The graphics are good and the game is enjoyable. Your choices in the game actually have consequences and will sometimes cause you to have a game over and have to restart from the chapter. If you are a fan of visual novels, I think you'll like this game. If you are unsure, get the demo and try it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
All of Us Are Dead
Great game! I liked it more than the Netflix series and the original comics. Why does it have so few reviews?
I'm really confused to why this game has so little reviews at all It's a damn good game, i think it's one of the best horror visual novels after corpse party The art is nice, and it's drab colorscheme helps with the helplessness situation The music is tense, making the atmosphere even more thick And yes the story is kinda generic, but it's not about "What can we add as a twist" and more of a "How will these people survive"
zombies munch munch
If you need your AOUAD fix, then this is good. It's better if you know the webcomic, Netflix-only people may be confused by some of the differences. The visual novel & the webcomic are by no means identical, they are still different universes to each other, but they are closer to each other than either is to the Netflix show. I'm not saying any particular version is better. There are some things I prefer from the Netflix version (the themes about bullying & social status divides) & some I prefer from the webcomic (good guy! Coach Kang. They could have just used Anh for the jerk teacher that nearly gets our group killed with his selfishness, he was right there). And I haven't played far enough into the Visual Novel to say what I think of it compared to the other continuities, as I'm still on Chapter 1. Though I like the dynamic that this version's Woo-jin & Na-yeon have with each other & with Chan-in (who I don't remember from the other versions).
All of Us Are Dead…, developed and published by IKINAGAMES, is a visual novel adaptation of the popular Korean zombie franchise that reimagines the outbreak at Hyosan High School through an interactive, choice-driven narrative. The game places players in the middle of the chaos that erupts when a deadly virus transforms students and teachers into the infected, trapping survivors in a fight for their lives. While the premise follows the familiar setup from the webtoon and Netflix series, the game expands on the story by providing new perspectives, branching paths, and alternate endings, giving fans an opportunity to explore scenarios that diverge from the source material. The storytelling is the clear centerpiece of the experience. Characters are more deeply fleshed out, with moments of quiet reflection and relationship-building interspersed between harrowing encounters with the undead. On-jo, Su-hyuk, Mi-jin, and even the ruthless antagonist Gwi-nam are given additional development that allows them to feel more layered and human, even in the middle of a crisis. The emotional weight of friendship, betrayal, sacrifice, and survival plays out through player choices, which influence the relationships between characters and can dramatically alter the outcome of events. The branching structure allows for multiple interpretations of how the story could unfold if different decisions had been made. Structurally, the game is divided into a series of chapters that carry the player through the escalating nightmare. A timeline system makes it easy to revisit earlier sections without replaying the entire story from scratch, a welcome feature in a visual novel with many branching routes. This encourages experimentation, letting players see how different decisions impact survival, alliances, and the overall direction of the plot. The branching design also supports replayability, as no single run captures the full scope of what the game has to offer. Each path can reveal new events or endings, and the tension of making difficult choices ensures that every decision feels significant. Visually, the game uses a clean and expressive art style that complements its grim subject matter. Character portraits are emotive, while event illustrations bring key moments of horror, desperation, or tragedy to life with striking impact. The subdued color palette and sharp contrast between calm and frantic sequences emphasize the atmosphere of dread. Voice acting in Korean, paired with English subtitles, adds an authentic layer to the performances, while the soundtrack enhances the mood by shifting between tense, dramatic beats and quieter, reflective pieces. Despite the overall strength of presentation, the English localization occasionally stumbles, with some mistranslations or awkward phrasing that can pull players out of the moment. The experience is not without flaws. Some choices are presented ambiguously, leading to outcomes that may not align with player expectations. A few late-game segments, in particular, have been criticized for confusing branching logic, making it difficult to anticipate how a decision will affect the story. Additionally, while the branching paths add replay value, many of them are variations on established events rather than dramatically new scenarios, which can lessen the sense of surprise during subsequent playthroughs. Even so, the game remains engaging due to the emotional stakes and the constant tension of survival against overwhelming odds. Reception has been largely positive among both fans of the original series and visual novel enthusiasts. Players have praised its ability to expand the source material while still maintaining the desperate tone and emotional pull of the story. The timeline feature, the expanded characterization, and the branching endings are frequently highlighted as strengths, while criticisms usually center on translation issues and occasional narrative confusion. Critics have noted that the game’s length and density make it feel more substantial than many licensed adaptations, offering enough content to justify multiple playthroughs. Ultimately, All of Us Are Dead… succeeds as both a companion piece to the franchise and a standalone visual novel experience. It captures the panic and claustrophobia of being trapped in a school overrun by zombies while also highlighting the fragile bonds and human choices that define survival in such a nightmare. Though it suffers from some rough edges in presentation and clarity, its emotional storytelling and replayable structure make it a worthwhile addition to the growing body of interactive horror narratives. For fans of the original series or anyone drawn to branching survival stories, it offers a tense and often heartbreaking journey that lingers long after the final ending is reached. Rating: 8/10
