Juegazo, da miedo pero otro tipo de miedo. Un juego de terror muy diferente a los demás.
This game is more than just a good movie ip video game. This game is important. This game shows what can happen if you let talented developers make something they're passionate about and give them the opportunity to do something that no one else has been able to accomplish. This is not just a good game for fans of the movie, this is one of the greatest survival horror games of all time. The art, the graphics, the ai, every gameplay system here is just so flawless that it feels reductive to try and rate this. It's like trying to say "I think that Lawrence of Arabia is a good movie". It's a masterpiece beyond measure. It's an achievement in the medium of video games. This is like Mario 64 or Bioshock levels of historic art. Even if this didn't have the pedigree of the greatest sci-fi horror franchise of all time, this game is a masterpiece in every way. Everyone owes it to themselves to play this at least once in their life.

Do I recommend this game? Short answer, yes, long answer, yes, but its a little more complicated. First of all this game captures the esence of the movies quite well, but theres some problems with the pacing and certain gameplay elements. First, the pacing; The game is way too long and theres was a bunch of times where I thoght that I was about to finish it but then It just went on and on, I think if it was half its duration might be enough. Second, gameplay; I played on hard and It wasnt that difficult at all but annoying at times, the problem is that half of your equipament is just useless, half way through the game I was full of everything and didnt use any of it, and if that wasnt bad enough against the alien there where only 2 options, but mainly you want to hide, where theres also another problem because the best thing you can do against the alien is just go around in circles on a table or something until the alien leaves, there are things to hide in but is always a gamble so you are better off not using them. The game is not bad at all but I just feel like it could of been a lot better, It gets a lot of things right and Its actually scary although is annoying at times.
Brilliant game. Perfectly fits in with the primary story canon without any major issues, the survival horror is insanely tense on the Normal and higher difficulties, the development team have really drawn on the Ridley Scott and James Cameron bibles for Alien and Aliens for putting together the story, world building, atmosphere and sheer strength of horror behind the gameplay. Nothing ever feels really unfair as you are playing through with either a control pad or mouse and keyboard, because when you put yourself within the eyes of your avatar you really are in deep trouble to get out of this chaos. If anything was a gripe about this game its that having your flashlight on can get you seen and killed, noise from anything including debris on the ground can get you heard and killed, if you get cheeky and turn up the gamma setting to maximum then all enemies in the game can see you better too and even the motion detector when you get it can get you killed by its gentle noise. Honestly this is another diamond game and best version of its release with the Nintendo Switch being the best portable version.
Held off on playing this game for years. I'm not a massive fan of no-fight horror games, I think they kill player agency. BUT this game has an amazing balance of no-fighting vs fight when you need to. It's got a great atmosphere, fantastic sound design, and the level design is mostly great. I played on hard because I've got a few horror games under my belt and I like a challenge. I can't say I would consider the game particularly challenging on hard. I finished with full amounts of flame fuel, throwables, and crafting materials. Nightmare is supposedly more restrictive so I might give it a try at some point. The Alien - I think what most people come for is the fear of being hunted down by the perfect organism. It's scary at times, but it never quite strikes the balance of feeling constantly hunted. The alien was either walking around and I could just walk away, or it stayed in the vents for about 50% of a mission. I think the issue is that the alien and its two AIs rely on players being too afraid to move and thus lingering or using too much of their equipment. This trains the alien to find you faster. If, however, you constantly walk about and never linger, you will almost never encounter it. That being said, when I did encounter the alien it was almost always a game over. You can flame it, but it will become more aggressive. You can smoke bomb it but that either worked or didn't with no consistency that I could find. It was frustrating at times to lose my progress in the longer stretches because the alien would jump me faster than I could change gear. It's a skill issue more than anything, so don't let it put you off. The other enemies The androids felt like good companion enemies to the Alien: They're dumb, they're slow, and they are relatively forgiving in terms of damage. You can kill them but it takes a lot to do so (unless you use the bolt gun). They work well as filler enemies that are still tense to confront. Humans suck. They have greater eyesight than any other enemy, they will shoot you but not hear each other shooting you, and they will either completely ignore your distractions or act so randomly that it doesn't matter if you use a distraction. I managed to get through without killing them, so I can't tell you how tough they are to fight, but one noise maker will send the alien straight at them to sort the issue. The other bits The game's story is pretty lackluster. I kept expecting some great twist to happen, or for characters to have a greater involvement but honestly most of the little plotlines ended with a whimper besides maybe two of them. The ending was extremely abrupt and felt almost nonsensical. The cutscenes can be very jarring in their transitions and cuts. and one in particular towards the end felt like it did not match the urgency of the level. Gunplay feels surprisingly great for a game that encourages you to use your guns sparingly. I think it has one of my favourite reload systems, similar to The Bunker. Exploration is rewarding, all the files you find are interesting to read, and the increasing desperation of the station is pretty well conveyed. Overall Give it a try. If you like the Alien franchise or you just want a good horror game this is worth the price. It has weak spots but they never outdo the great parts. The difficulty is pretty well balanced and you are free to play the game in your own way, just expect the game to play you in return.
One of the best games ever. Generational release.
