3 Difficulty Levels
Every mission can be completed in 3 distinct difficulty modes (Agent, Special Agent, and 64 Agent). With higher difficulty comes more objectives, and more open areas to discover.
(Tip: Start with Agent to familiarize yourself with the missions, then ramp up the difficulty to discover what comes next.)
By beating par times and other trials, you can unlock Paradox Modes, which contain 70+ modifiers and cheats that enable various effects on regular gameplay, including:
Big Heads
Melee Disarms
Slow Bullet Speeds
No Reload
…and many more!
Ready for an unorthodox challenge? Complete Contracts: remixed missions with different objectives and Paradox mode pre-sets for additional Paradox unlocks.
Fight against friends in local split-screen multiplayer combat, or take the gunfight online with up to 8 players and 8 additional bots.
Enjoy full lobby customization including teams, weapon set, rule sets and paradox modifiers, with up to 10 saved pre-sets to your liking.
Deathmatch: Classic deathmatch, score the more frags to win!
Briefcase: Capture the briefcase and hold it for long enough to score a point. But don't get too comfortable, after each point won, the briefcase position is reset to a random point on the map.
Zone: You have to capture the zone on the map to score points. Don't let any enemy contest it as it will stall the countdown!
Challenges: special matches against pre-set bots where players must reach a precise score under a certain amount of time. The faster you win, the better the prizes. Unlock maps, characters, music tracks, and more!

Reviews
Good for a solo dev. All the positive reviews share the good, so this review is still a recommend, but I'm going to focus on it's short comings. Only major complaint I have is the Cypher unlock mechanic. It's basically a point system you get from beating a level, doing it's bonus challenge version, and shooting secret masks. Don't really have a problem with the points unlocking things like cheats or new characters for mp, but locking the campaign missions behind what would be optional content is really frustrating. Especially since to get enough points to unlock the later Acts you WILL have to replay older missions just to hunt for the hidden mask or do a challenge on. It really feels like it's just there to pad out the gameplay time and/or to force the player to play other modes. Minor gripes: 1. No controller support for N64 controllers. M64 by ModRetro just came out, so there's a lot of people (like me) with new M64 controllers and I can't play this game with it (I spent at least 2-3 hours trying to via layouts). But I think it could easily be fixed if the horizontal aim had a mode that switched it to left joystick and moved strafing off of left joystick and to a couple random buttons. That way it would play with only one joystick like the original. (no the 1:1 mode doesn't do that, it still uses 2 joysticks and while you can make a joystick work like a button it's a lot harder to get a button to work like a joystick) 2. Not a lot of weapons or gadgets. Tbf there's basically a gun for every weapon TYPE, it's just that Goldeneye had a TON of guns and gadgets to use. 3. Most gadgets work the same way. Go to point, use item on thing, then either A) Objective Complete or B) stand there and wait a minute then A. There's no actual 'utility' in the gadgets. They are solely for fulfilling objectives. I even tried using some of the extra explosives against enemies but when they blow up it detonates the entire map somehow, there are remote explosives but I've only seen them once or twice so far. So there's no trip mines, timed explosives, grenades, stunning tools, or turrets, etc. There's a lot that could be done here. Like in levels with alarms, add a terminal tucked away somewhere that if you hack it, it will disable all the alarms but enemies will still waste time pushing a now dead button. Some levels have auto turrets, why not hack those with some spy hacking dart gun and now they're your ally for about a minute. Also, idk if the silencer does anything stealth wise, but I also don't remember if it did in Goldeneye either tbf. 4. The gunplay is oddly kinda realistic in how you're supposed to clear rooms and check corners to avoid damage, even to the fact that it's mostly about how many bullets can you fire at longer ranges the most accurately, as well as spreading your damage to multiple enemies (not just one guy at a time) because shots will stagger them and keep them from firing at you (neat!). Not a problem so far. Every gun fulfills this in someway, even the shotgun because despite it's long recovery time it launches a swarm of pellets, so it'll either kill that one guy in 1 shot or it will hit 3 guys and stagger them long enough for you to get to cover or shoot again. Except when it comes to what should be really powerful weapons. Like the revolver and the sniper rifle. They both fire so slowly that their high damage doesn't even matter, bc in the time it takes in-between the 2-3 body shots it will take them to kill an enemy, you could have already dumped a quarter of the mag from the starter handgun into them and still be shooting at the next guy. These guns are only dangerous to the player when the bad guys have them, when the player has them it means the bad guys can shoot you more. 5. After let's say every 2 objectives a checkpoint would be nice. Some levels are a bit large so starting the whole thing over when you only have 1 objective left, is really demoralizing. ESPECIALLY when it's to get another Cypher.

LOOKS LIKE PEAK IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
WOW NICE E1M1
Agent 64: Spies Never Die is a very faithful throwback to GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark. The gunplay, levels and missions structure will make you feel right at home. But, some things about the campaign are a bit annoying and could be improved: - Weapon selection is limited to a few pistols and the same 2 or 3 automatics. - Sniper Rifle doesn't seem to zoom further than other weapons. - Enemy AI sometimes have a long starting animation, giving you plenty of time to attack. I wish they could throw grenades instead. They can melee attack, which is great. - Item selection is done by menus. I would prefer new key binds different from weapon cycling. Personally, the look of the menus could be better: GoldenEye used a watch, Perfect Dark something similar. But here, it's basic PC menu. This is where the game could bring out its own personality. There is no mission briefing section to explain where the player is, what he has to do and why in the context of the story could be interesting. The story is pretty much in the intro cutscenes and in the mission objective description. As for multiplayer, I haven't touched it. But, since the targeting system is more like the console games, I prefer something like a classic PC shooter. GoldenEye Source 5.0 is a better option for me.
OMG Just like Golden Eye! This fixed my itch and I HIGHLY recommend this game to all. The memories are back.
If you liked the campaign from GoldenEye for the N64, and have a passing interest in speedrunning, this is the perfect game for you. The development team has really accomplished something incredible in being able to capture the feeling of the classic Rare FPS.
I know it's supposed to be like GoldenEye, but some of the later story stuff has me screaming TimeSplitters instead. Either way, it's up to par, even if my times never will be!
Captures the nostalgia perfectly. Also the controlls are done verry well with mouse and keyboard. It´s a hommage to Golden Eye and done right. My only complaint is that there is no train level... I would suggest playing it form the beginning on, atleast on agent, than you don´t have to repeat missions (honestly some ar so good, that I repeated theam on special agent).
If you want a Nintendo 64 nostalgia spiritual successor it's right here this game was made to replicate the same love and feel as GoldenEye 64 And it accomplish that in spades the enemy grunts sound exactly like they were in Goldeneye 64, the controls feel very similar, It even has the lock spring aiming as they were back then although at times I wish there was an option where I have to toggle the aiming button not hold it Other than that in terms of the music there was a total missed opportunity,.... they could have brought along a composer that uses the soundboard from GoldenEye 64 and Perfect Dark someone likes say "Ultralistic" he was a composer that makes custom songs using the soundboards from those games other than that it's a fantastic game and I highly recommend it
Após os Soulslike, agora é a era dos Goldeneyelikes!
Luzes pré definidas, inimigos com rostos repetidos, falta de animações para recargas de armas, texturas borradas, level design às vezes meio "labirinto", jogabilidade travada... E espionagem. Muita espionagem! Indispensável para quem cresceu jogando Goldeneye, Perfect Dark e The World is Not Enough no Nintendo 64. Embora melhor resolução e taxa de quadros, Agent 64 captura perfeitamente a essência e experiência de jogar os clássicos do N64.
