Adventure Climb VR is a room-scale climbing experience suitable for anyone of any age - particularly great for newcomers to VR. Achieve triumph through a combination of physically demanding climbing techniques and puzzle challenges that are designed by actual rock climbers.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

After much great feedback, we decided in July 2022 to build an expansion that incorporates your requests for enhancements, new levels, and extra features, welcome to our DLC.
Don't worry, we've kept the first level free, but now you have the option to upgrade to our DLC and play 5 additional levels.
Race to the top, beat your friend's time, explore the various Easter Eggs, avoid the hazards, and find SECRET Locations... the choice of how you play is up to you!
The Background
As climbers, we originally built this game to explore different locomotion ways that we felt were lacking in other VR climbing experiences. After trialing at a real climbing competition, we decided to push a free demo one-level version on Steam in 2019.

Adventure Climb VR is proof that climbing a mountain in real life is overrated when you can panic in your living room instead. The concept is simple: climb stuff, don't fall, and try to convince yourself that your arms aren't getting tired. Somehow, despite sounding like the world's most elaborate ladder simulator, it's actually pretty fun. The climbing mechanics feel surprisingly satisfying. Every hand placement matters, and reaching a difficult ledge gives you a genuine sense of accomplishment. Or relief. Mostly relief. There were multiple moments where I caught myself celebrating because I successfully grabbed a rock without launching myself into the abyss like a malfunctioning ragdoll. The environments are enjoyable to explore, and VR does a great job of making heights feel much taller than they actually are. Nothing reminds you that your brain is easy to fool quite like standing safely on your carpet while your legs suddenly decide they're afraid of virtual gravity. The game isn't the most complex experience you'll ever play. You're not saving the world, fighting dragons, or uncovering ancient conspiracies. You're climbing. That's pretty much the job description. Fortunately, the climbing itself is engaging enough to keep things entertaining. Of course, there are moments where you'll miss a grab by half an inch and watch all your progress disappear in a matter of seconds. The game calls this a learning experience. I call it a creative way to test the durability of my patience. The physical aspect is also worth mentioning. What starts as a relaxing VR adventure quickly turns into an unexpected workout. Five minutes in, you're confidently scaling cliffs. Thirty minutes later, you're questioning every life decision that led to your shoulders feeling like they've completed a military training program. Recommended? Yes. Adventure Climb VR delivers exactly what it promises: climbing, heights, and the occasional heart attack caused by looking down. It's one of the few games where standing completely still in your living room can somehow leave you sweaty and exhausted. 8/10. I bought a VR climbing game and accidentally enrolled in a virtual upper-body fitness program. My arms hate it. My VR headset loves it.

My feelings are mixed about this game. I was looking for an alternative to The Climb (which is Meta-only, and I want to get a Steam Frame), and this game does in part fulfill my wish, but it has a few shortcomings that make it not a very enjoyable experience. My biggest gripe is with the visuals. I can understand low-poly and lazy rock texturing (it is a cheap game with a free demo), but in the first level, there are these rocks at the bottom that are "reflecting" the water, with moving white textures. It's a cool attention to detail, but the shader that does this wasn't properly compiled with openxr compatibility, so it only appears in the left eye. This really hurts the eyes, and it's truly a shame to have this kind of massive overlook in a game that's supposed to be immersive. The audio is a bit of a disappointment too. No nature sounds, mostly a drum music that isn't very satisfying, and always the same voice line that prompts me to start climbing (thank you I understood the first time). Reaching the end of the track doesn't have any big effect either, it's just not rewarding. At the end of the track, there's a zipline you need to grab, which takes you back to the start. The first time, I grabbed it but apparently ungrabbed it in the middle somehow and ended up back on the zipline platform, with the zipline stuck in the middle of it. No way to grab it again, so I had to jump off and redo part of the track. Bringing the zipline back to the top would have been pretty easy, there's no situation where a lone zipline in the middle could be useful. So overall I don't hate this game, it does pretty well for the price, which is around 5€ for the full game with other maps. But it lacks polish, and it really makes a difference in the experience for me. It's good to scratch the itch for climbing games, but it doesn't feel like it is fully developed. Maybe I'll come back to this in a few months, and find that the polish has been added, but I don't really believe in it, not 7 years after release.
Excited to share a bit about a project I worked on Adventure Climb VR! It’s a VR climbing experience designed with real climbers in mind and built entirely in Unity using OpenXR. We focused on making it accessible, fun, and immersive for all types of players. Whether you’re totally new to VR or a seasoned climber looking to test your skills virtually, Adventure Climb VR offers intuitive mechanics, room scale movement, and some creative level design. 🧗♂️ Big thanks to everyone who's played it, shared feedback, or raced up those walls on the leaderboards! 🙌
The free version is short but fun especially if you're scared of heights.
