A Rat's Quest - The Way Back Home | Season 1

What an immensely charming little game! The writing can be too fast paced and at times clunky, but every character still shines as charming, especially the three leads. The story has this fun sense of adventure that left me constantly eager to see what comes next. The gameplay is great! Simple, and feels a bit janky, but there's definitely fun to be had with exploring this world and navigating its challenges. The pacing is strange, like how you get the full combat system within the last 10 minutes of the game, which is... a choice? The jank, while mostly charming, does have the very occasional moment of dipping into frustration. Twice I got caught on some weird level geometry and had to quit the game, but the auto-save system is generous enough you only lose a few seconds of progress, but I still that desperately needs fixing. Sometimes the music really doesn't fit the scene, I don't know why the main villain's theme sounds weirdly bumbling. But overall, I'm really invested and excited to see more! I also love how this game makes use of the limited space it takes place in, allowing the world of the rats to feel small enough for the story and lived in, whilst also constantly changing things up in the environment so that you always navigate these familiar areas through new routes, it never feels repetitive. The wait for season 2 is going to be torture now, but I'll be there for certain.

I don't recommend. Camera angle is so annoying that I couldn't even focus on playing.

Kamera geçişleri ve sinematik sunum oyunu sıradanlıktan çıkarıyor. Karakterimiz tek bir mekaniğe bağlı değil; bölümler ilerledikçe yeni yetenekler kazanıyor ve oynanış yer yer çeşitleniyor. Farklı bulmacalar ve platform sekansları da bu yapıyı destekliyor. - Ben bu oyunu canlı yayında deneyimledim; videosu da mevcuttur. Хоча я не дуже полюбляю платформери, але ця гра зачепила. Цікава історія на 4-5 годин. Не вистачає української текстової локалізації. Чекаємо на продовження. Рекомендую.

Me encanta el excelente trabajo que hizo el estudio con este juego! Se nota mucho el enorme empeño que le pusieron a cada detalle, los gráficos, las texturas, la música, pero también las personalidades de los personajes a través de sus diálogos, el world building de cada escenario. Tiene un par de bugs y glitches pero nada crítico que rompa con la inmersión del juego. Hasta ahora, sólo tuve que recargar un punto de encuentro una sola vez por un glitch. ¡Sigan con el excelente trabajo y no puedo esperar a la temporada 2!!!!

If you want a laidback platformer game that is narrative driven this is for you, and it's a game your kids can play too. The game is all about platforming and cutscenes, and that's about it. No collectibles or secrets, and the golden path is heavily marked so you will never get lost for long. The game is insanely forgiving if you fail so you can just push through some parts that might be a tad bit difficult due to some jank since this game has quite a bit of it when it comes to movement and platforming. The camera controls are weird because the default controller speed is too fast, but if I turn it down just by .1 it's too slow. And on top of that there's acceleration that makes it even weirder. For some reason the game needs 50GB storage which is crazy considering the game's visuals and compared to other photoreal games like Pragmata which only needs 34GB. There's some weird frame inconsistencies where you have large frame drops for no reason at all, but it never felt choppy in any way just some strange fluctuations. You can tell that this game is the brainchild of a 35+ maybe even 40+ year old person the moment you reach the dream section where you might see some familiar childhood things if you are around that age. And whoever came up with the word "ACHEESEMENTS" was a genius.
