Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 28 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A Musical Story, developed by Glee-Cheese Studio and published by Plug In Digital, is an unusual and emotionally expressive rhythm adventure that tells its story entirely through images and music. It follows the fragmented memories of Gabriel, a young musician lying unconscious in a hospital bed, as he struggles to piece together how he arrived there. Instead of dialogue or text, the game relies on visual storytelling, mood, and its 1970s-inspired soundtrack to guide players through Gabriel’s past. This choice immediately sets it apart from other rhythm titles: the narrative is woven into the music itself, creating an experience that feels like a psychedelic concept album brought to life through interactive scenes. The core of the experience is a call-and-response rhythm mechanic in which you listen to short musical phrases before reproducing them using two directional inputs. Each successful sequence reveals another part of Gabriel’s memory, building the chapter’s music layer by layer until the full track plays. This design reinforces the theme of recollection: memory returns gradually, piece by piece, just as the music does. The more accurately you follow the rhythm, the more complete and resonant the story becomes. The simplicity of the controls contrasts with the emotional depth of the sequences, and at its best, the game achieves a hypnotic flow where sound, imagery, and timing blend into a unified expression. A Musical Story’s visual presentation is among its most compelling qualities. Its hand-drawn art style features warm colors, soft edges, and expressive silhouettes, often shifting hues and lighting to reflect Gabriel’s emotional state. Scenes move from carefree road trips with his bandmates to intimate moments of creation, then plunge into darker imagery as the story explores burnout, heartbreak, and substance abuse. The game’s cinematic framing, along with its minimalist symbolism, creates a sense of immersion that feels more like watching an animated music film than playing a traditional game. Each chapter opens with stylized cinematic shots that capture mood rather than literal detail, encouraging players to interpret events through emotional cues. The soundtrack, composed with clear influences from 70s rock, blues, and psychedelia, is the driving force behind the game. Every track is crafted to convey a specific emotional beat—whether the warmth of camaraderie, the excitement of artistic discovery, or the descent into despair. Guitars, drums, and synth elements intertwine to create a tone that is nostalgic yet distinct, and the way chapters gradually assemble each track enhances the sense of musical storytelling. This is not just music that accompanies the game; it *is* the narrative engine, and it succeeds in pulling the player into Gabriel’s inner world. Despite its strengths, the game’s rhythm mechanics can be divisive. The absence of visual prompts forces players to rely entirely on their sense of timing and auditory memory, which can be rewarding for some but alienating for others. A single missed note resets the entire phrase, and difficulty escalates sharply as the game progresses. Later chapters demand precise timing on complex patterns, and repeated failures can interrupt narrative immersion. This insistence on perfection sometimes clashes with the game’s otherwise meditative tone, making certain sections feel frustrating rather than introspective. Players who are used to rhythm games with generous visual aids may find the minimalist approach challenging or unintuitive. Additionally, the experience is relatively short, spanning only a few hours. While this brevity helps maintain narrative cohesion and emotional focus, it also means that players who struggle with the rhythm mechanics may spend more time repeating segments than experiencing new content. The game’s most rewarding ending is locked behind perfect performances in all chapters, creating an additional layer of difficulty for those seeking full completion. Still, for players who embrace the challenge, achieving mastery over the music can feel deeply satisfying. A Musical Story ultimately thrives through its artistic ambition and emotional resonance. It explores themes of ambition, love, fear, and recovery without speaking a single word, relying on music and imagery to reveal the arc of a young artist’s life. While its demanding rhythm system may keep some players at arm’s length, those willing to attune themselves to its flow will find a poignant, stylish, and beautifully constructed experience. It is a game that asks players not only to listen, but to *feel*, blending nostalgia and melancholy into a narrative that lingers long after the final notes fade. Rating: 8/10

This is called 'A musical story'. I expect the story to pay off just as much as the musical elements like the title suggests. This is more like 'A musical slog'. The story is too slow for the gameplay. You slowly unlock story scenes by playing rhythm sequences correctly. But sometimes you will be playing a very difficult rhythm, listening multiple times, and then your story scene will be: a guy peeing, or people laying down, or a person driving. Or even less interesting things than this. Compare this to games like 'Cytus' or 'Deemo' which are story based rhythm games that have much more story content after beating difficult parts and won't lock you into a looping sequence if you make only one mistake. Either make story more rich or gameplay more forgiving. Otherwise, it's wasting your time. Edit: Also I watched the end of the story online (I was on chapter 22 before I gave up, I was certainly patient enough with the most difficult parts of the game before quitting). Spoilers: No racism is ever shown to the point it feels like the creators don't even feel comfortable to show it. The main character is constantly high and feels chased by hallucinated racist icons. In reality, it looks like his bandmates are alright, he is too enveloped in his drugged up paranoia, assaults a member and runs into the woods for his poor girlfriend to chase him. Then his hallucinations come back, and he crashes his car which also could endanger both him and his girlfriend again. And for some reason, she still stays with him. Even though this story is supposed to be after the civil rights movement, it feels like establishing this story in the 1970's a was pointless choice. The racism was completely fictional and cartoony, not interpersonal or systemic. At the end, our protagonist looks so crazy that the only takeaway can be 'don't do drugs'. What could've been a powerful message about a black man fighting discrimination in the 70's through music ends up as wasted potential.
A lovely little game that doesn't overstay its welcome, even if you are tone deaf like me it can be completed in 3 hours.
Music: 10/10 Art: 10/10 Story: 10/10 (? I've not finished all endings, too much work...) Mechanic: 8/10 Amount of work: 11/10 (help) This game is good, especially because I got it on a 75% discount, what a steal!! I love the music, the art, and the story. If there is anything to critic, it will be the game mechanic. Arguably speaking, it is not difficult. Instead of having Bad, Good, Great, Perfect, they make all of them Perfect ==> As long as you click when the assist circle touches the note circle, you passed perfectly! HOWEVER, in order to explore the Pinewood End, you have to Perfect every chapter (0 miss :0 ...). This, I swear, is tedious. I'm too lazy to finish it lmao. Also there is no calibration, good luck people.
Excelente juego. Excelente couch-locker .
Such a beautiful game that I can't stop coming back to. The visuals, story, and MUSIC (oh my GOD the music) all come together to create not only a wonderfully unique rhythm game experience, but a genuine piece of art. My only nit-pick is that I wish there were a way to fix input lag since every machine is different. All love to the devs and everyone else that worked on this!
