It's the game with the "hug" button. ‘nough said. Melts my heart every time I hug the blob. First of all. yes. This game has a hug button and it's the most adorable thing ever. Never made it very far the first time I played though because I was busy hugging my blob. A Boy and His Blob on is awesome. If you like puzzle platformers and really cute 2D art, it is a delight. I played the NES one with my Dad. He wasn’t a big video game guy but for some reason he got sucked in by the art. He passed away a few months ago so I DEFINITELY was not be able to get through this without blubbering like a baby. Such a great game with an interesting and unique concept! But it was so hard! Even as an adult, I could barely make progress. This one though is a port of the Wii version. The Wii version managed to capture a lot of the charm from the original with plenty of call backs to the original. And this version was challenging without being nearly as hard as the original. I really enjoyed this retelling of the original and the hand drawn artstyle is really great, genuinely beautiful to look at. The wonderful graphics and smooth animations make this a beautiful game to play. The pace is rather slow, more focused on solving puzzles than hard-packed action. All the different things The Blob can turn into are really cool, he can even turn into a cannon. Each of the transformations allow you to solve puzzles and navigate through each area. The game takes place in a series of individual levels where you have certain blob transformation abilities (up to 8) and unlimited jellybeans to use unlike the original where you could play for hours and realize that you were stuck because you ran out of licorice jellybeans. Trust me, this change is for the better. The gameplay reminds me of other platformers like Mario Brothers and Sonic, albeit with more of a puzzle element to it and better graphics. For most of the puzzles you can take your time and figure out what you need to do without worrying about enemies attacking. It should be noted that the puzzles are not at all difficult, so if you're looking for a game with difficult puzzle solving, this game won't provide that, but it is still provides a great time. Most levels in all four worlds follow the same mechanic: guide the boy and his blob through a level while having Blob collect 3 treasure chests. You have to use the different shapes Blob can take, objects from your surroundings and the boy himself to solve the increasingly challenging puzzles. At the end of each world you'll have to fight a Boss, but these are relatively easy to play once you find out the weakness of each boss. When you finish a level with all three chests found, you can play a bonus "challenge" level. The challenge being that you usually can use only one or two Blob-shapes. That makes the puzzles in these levels less intricate, they are more about skill and timing. The whole game has a very charming feel to it, as well. The hand-drawn characters are cute, and the blob's forms and animations are also very cute, if sometimes goofy. Like I’ve said there's even a button to give him a hug; it serves no purpose, but definitely adds to the charm. The music is orchestral, and while it's nothing you'll be jamming out to as you cruise down the highway, it all fits well enough, and it does have the main theme from the original game. Not much story, not that you need it, but it's all told in short cutscenes with no actual dialogue, so it's something you can enjoy regardless of age or language barrier. All in all a fun game for a few hours of not-too-difficult gaming. I really enjoyed it. It's not particularly difficult, but it's satisfying and the art direction is good and the relationship between the boy and his blob is really interesting. If you enjoy 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformers, this game is definitely worth the asking price. I only wish my father had been here to play it with me. I’d love to hug him as I hugged the blob. 8/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Not perfect, but absolutely worth playing.
BOM VAMOS LA O QUE FALAR DO JOGO A BOY AND HIS BLOD PARA COMEÇAR PARA QUEM NAO SABE ANOS 80 – O CLÁSSICO DO NES (FAMICOM): O A BOY AND HIS BLOB ORIGINAL NASCEU EM 1989 NO NINTENDINHO. ALI JÁ TINHA A PREMISSA: GAROTO + BLOB QUE VIRA OBJETOS. MAS ERA CRUEL – SEM DICAS, SEM SAVE, SEM MAPA. VOCÊ SÓ DESCOBRIA AS TRANSFORMAÇÕES TESTANDO NA RAÇA (OU COM A REVISTINHA DA NINTENDO POWER COLADA NA PAREDE). E O FINAL? TRAIDOR. DEPENDENDO DO QUE VOCÊ FAZIA, O BLOB TE ABANDONAVA OU VOCÊ VIRAVA O VILÃO. TRAUMATIZOU UMA GERAÇÃO. 2009 – A REVOLUÇÃO NO WII: AÍ A WAYFORWARD (GÊNIOS DO SHANTAE) PEGOU ESSA JOIA BRUTA E REESCREVEU A HISTÓRIA COM CARINHO. MANTIVERAM A ESSÊNCIA: DESENHAR FORMAS PRA VIRAR OBJETOS. MAS MODERNIZARAM TUDO: GRÁFICOS EM 2D LINDOS TRAÇO DE DESENHO ANIMADO, FÍSICA MAIS JUSTA, CHECKPOINTS (MESMO QUE RAROS) E UM SISTEMA DE DICAS – PORQUE NINGUÉM MERECIA SOFRER IGUAL NOS ANOS 80. A MAIOR REVOLUÇÃO? A RELAÇÃO AFETIVA. NO ORIGINAL O BLOB ERA QUASE UMA FERRAMENTA; NO WII, ELE TE ABRAÇA, FAZ CARINHA TRISTE E VOCÊ CRIA VÍNCULO DE VERDADE. VIROU UM JOGO DE PUZZLE EMOCIONAL. CARA, QUE JORNADA! 29 HORAS E PLATINA NA CONTA – ISSO NÃO É SÓ "ZERAR", É NAMORAR O JOGO HAHAHA. E OLHA QUE A BOY AND HIS BLOB TEM ESSA FAMA DE FOFINHO, MAS QUEM JOGOU SABE: É UM PUZZLE DE PRECISÃO CIRÚRGICA DISFARÇADO DE DESENHO ANIMADO. O RESUMO DA ÓPERA: VOCÊ É UM GAROTO QUE ENCONTRA UMA BOLINHA BRANCA E FOFA QUE VIRA O QUE VOCÊ DESENHAR (ESCADA, PARAQUEDAS, CANHÃO, PONTE...). O OBJETIVO? SALVAR O PLANETA DO BLOB DAS GARRAS DE UM IMPERADOR MALIGNO. PARECE SIMPLES, MAS A FÍSICA É QUADRADA, OS CHECKPOINTS SÃO RAROS E CADA FASE EXIGE PENSAR 3 PASSOS À FRENTE ENQUANTO O BICHINHO TE OLHA COM OLHOS DE PIDÃO. POR QUE NÃO FOI FÁCIL: OS CONTROLES SÃO ANTIGOS (DA ÉPOCA DO WII/DS) – VOCÊ QUER VIRAR ESCADA, VIRA BALA, E O BLOB CAI NO BURACO. AS FASES SECRETAS (PARA A PLATINA) SÃO LEVEL DESIGN PURISTA: UM ERRO = RECOMEÇAR A FASE INTEIRA. E AQUELE TROFÉU DE "NÃO MATAR NENHUM BLOB"? SOFRÊNCIA PURA, PORQUE ELES SE JOGAM EM ESPINHOS SOZINHOS. MAS VALE CADA MINUTO. É DAQUELES JOGOS QUE TE FAZEM XINGAR E SORRIR NO MESMO SEGUNDO. A ARTE É LINDA, A TRILHA SONORA É ACONCHEGANTE, E A RELAÇÃO COM O BLOB – MESMO SEM DIÁLOGOS – É MAIS EMOCIONANTE QUE MUITO FILME. INDICO FORTE PRA QUEM: GOSTA DE PUZZLE COM TENTATIVA E ERRO (TIPO LIMBO OU THE SWAPPER). QUER UM JOGO "CURTO" (UMAS 8H NA CAMPANHA) MAS QUE VIRA UM DESAFIO DE PACIÊNCIA NO 100%. NÃO TEM MEDO DE PASSAR RAIVA COM UMA NUVEM BRANCA DE OLHINHOS. E SIM, QUEM QUISER VER A PROVA DO SOFRIMENTO, TÁ LÁ NO MEU ÁLBUM DA STEAM – CADA TROFÉU COM UMA HISTÓRIA DE FRUSTRAÇÃO E ALÍVIO.
This game was a staple of my child hood, and I played it A LOT on the Wii. I'd say it's worth your time if you like obscure puzzle platformers with unique mechanics. But I do have to say that the boss of the second world is absolute bull. It's easier to beat the boss by cheesing it then actually fighting the damn thing properly.
Well made but not for me. Charming art and puzzles slowly increasing in complexity. Blob-escort gameplay feels slow and tedious. Exactly what it looks like in the trailer. If you think it looks charming or don't mind escort gameplay, check it out.
10/10 game. It was my favorite as a kid, and I wish I could give the devs a hug. just 100%ed it in about 20 hours, but i did know most of the puzzles.
The first time I heard about this game was 15 years ago while watching a video for a game development course. I didn’t pay much attention to it, since I couldn’t play it. Now that it’s on Steam, I’ve had the chance to both play it and beat it. As I researched the game further, I learned that it was a reimagining of an NES game. And which company is involved? Wayforward—the same studio behind the Duck Tales remaster, as well as other games like Shantae, River City Girls, and Might Switch Force. If they’re involved, you can be sure the game will have: 1) A great soundtrack 2) Awesome graphics 3) Simple yet challenging mechanics. The game follows the adventures of a boy and a bubble as they navigate through various puzzle-style levels. The boy throws jelly beans, and the bubble transforms into objects that will help him progress through the levels. The boy can either hug the bubble or give it commands. Throughout the levels, enemies appear that the player must avoid touching; if he does, he’ll die. In addition, the boy can also die if: * He falls from a very high place. * He falls on thorns. * He falls off a cliff. This is the game where I’ve died the most, aside from Cuphead. However, the game features several checkpoints, which makes it easier to continue through the levels. The player completes the level by finding a golden jellybean, at which point the bubble transforms into a door. The game features 4 worlds with 40 levels in total, each containing 3 chests to be found. There are also extra challenges, comprising 40 levels in total, for a grand total of 80 levels. Even though I died a lot, I really enjoyed the game, especially the boy’s interactions with the bubble and the soundtrack—excluding the “Subterra” and “Shaded Plains” tracks. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys puzzle games and has plenty of patience.
《A Boy and His Blob》是诞生于1989年NES平台的经典之作,历经2009年Wii版重制后,又在2016年登陆PC平台。
